IWAKL is looking at
embracing diversity with a
continuous effort to
promote understanding,
respect and equality
among all cultures
IWAKL was founded in 1989 as a non profit, non
denominational organisation which has been
grouping expatriate women from all over the
world for social interaction, humanitarian
community service and professional fulfilment
for over three decades. Members of the
Association have always been drawn from a
large number of countries with a wide range
of different cultures and beliefs.
The aim of IWAKL is to promote social and
cultural interaction and better understanding
between members of the international
community and Malaysians strengthening ties
of friendship and respect.
IWAKL VISION is EMPOWERING women through educational opportunities through workshops and
programs. And sharing local festivals with international women is a great way to
promote cultural exchange and understanding. By sharing and providing information
about upcoming festivals, their significance, traditions and how international women
can participate or learn more about them.
The OBJECTIVE of IWAKL is to bring together the
women of the international community in
Malaysia in order that they may meet and work
together to foster interaction of a cultural
and social nature, pursue programmes that
develop greater understanding of each other
and encourage cooperation and peace.
